Ale

Just as Cromwell did with Theatres, he closed down Ale Houses in England. Thus drinking Ale (which goes very well with Plum Pudding) in an English pub, is a good practice for Royal Oak Day*.

Eldridge and Pope once produced a beer which was highly prized by beer barons everywhere:

Royal Oak Ale.

It is no longer available from Eldridge and Pope, but was returned to England by O’Hanlon’s Brewing in Devonshire in 2004. Within months this great ale won a Gold in the International Brewing Industry Awards.
It now has American brand owners, and is no longer produced by O’Hanlon’s Brewing.

Royal Oak Ale needs a brewer once more!
